Farm equipment business delivers robust growth
M&M’s Farm Equipment Business (FEB) posted a strong performance in April 2026, with domestic tractor sales rising 20% year-on-year to 46,404 units, compared to 38,516 units in April 2025.
Total tractor sales (domestic and exports) stood at 48,411 units, up from 40,054 units in the same period last year. Exports for the month were recorded at 2,007 units, reflecting a 30% growth.
Veejay Nakra, President, Farm Equipment Business, highlighted that the growth was achieved despite the absence of the Chaitra Navratri period in April this year, which had supported sales in the previous year.
Commercial vehicle segment sees moderate growth
M&M’s trucks and buses segment (CV > 3.5T) recorded total sales of 3,011 units in April 2026, registering an 11% year-on-year growth. The business includes operations under the Mahindra Trucks & Buses Division (MTBD) and SML Isuzu.
SML Executive Chairman and President – Aerospace, Advanced Technologies, Trucks and Buses Vinod Sahay, noted that the CV industry witnessed some moderation during the month due to the transition into the new fiscal year, inflationary pressures, and ongoing geopolitical uncertainties. He added that the company continues to monitor supply chain risks and input cost trends closely.
