Neo Group Appoints Anirban Banerjee As Co-Founder & Chief People Officer

CW Bureau ·

Wealth and asset management firm Neo Group has appointed Anirban Banerjee as Co-founder and Chief People and Transformation Officer, bolstering its leadership team as the company accelerates the expansion of its wealth and asset management platform.

In his new role, Banerjee will lead Neo Group’s people strategy, talent development, leadership capability, organisation design, culture and enterprise transformation initiatives.

The appointment comes as Neo Group continues to strengthen its institutional capabilities. The company currently manages approximately ₹1,30,000 crore in total client assets across Assets Under Advice (AUA) and Assets Under Management (AUM). It serves family offices, ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNIs), high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), institutions and corporates across wealth management, asset management and alternate investments.

The firm has a presence in more than 30 locations and employs around 850 professionals.

Brings over two decades of HR leadership
Banerjee brings more than 20 years of human resources leadership experience in the financial services sector. Prior to joining Neo Group, he served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Avendus Group. Earlier, he played a key role in building the human resources function at 360 ONE (formerly IIFL Wealth) during its formative years.

Neo Group Chairman & Managing Director Nitin Jain said the appointment reflects the company’s long-term approach to institution building.

“Neo has always been built with a long-term view. As we grow, our people and culture are what hold the organisation together and allow us to endure. Anirban has helped build respected institutions in our industry, and his experience across people and transformation will add significant depth to Neo as we move into our next phase. His joining as a co-founder reflects the entrepreneurial ownership at the heart of how Neo is built,” he said.

Focus on people-led transformation
Anirban Banerjee said the opportunity to build an institution with a strong ownership culture attracted him to the company.

“What drew me to Neo is the opportunity to build an institution from a position of ownership—where people, culture and transformation are not support functions, but the foundation of how the firm grows. I look forward to partnering with the leadership team in shaping Neo’s next phase,” he said.

The appointment underscores Neo Group’s focus on strengthening leadership and organisational capabilities as it scales its business in India’s fast-growing wealth and asset management industry.
