CW Bureau ·

IT services major Wipro Ltd has strengthened its partnership with data and AI company Databricks, launching a dedicated global business practice aimed at helping enterprises modernise their data infrastructure and accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence at scale.

The new practice will combine Databricks’ data and AI platform with Wipro Intelligence, the company’s suite of AI-powered platforms and solutions, enabling clients to move beyond fragmented data systems and isolated AI pilots to enterprise-wide, governed AI deployments.

Dedicated AI and data practice
As part of the expanded collaboration, Wipro has established a self-contained Databricks business practice that will develop industry-specific solutions and accelerators designed to deliver faster business outcomes.

The partnership will also help existing joint customers maximise the value of their current data investments while building new AI-led applications tailored to sector-specific requirements.

The integrated offering will leverage Databricks’ capabilities in agentic AI, data modernisation, analytics and application development, alongside Wipro’s AI platforms and consulting expertise.

Faster path to business value
The new practice will enable business users to derive insights more quickly through Databricks Genie, the company’s AI-powered co-worker that allows users to interact with enterprise data using natural language.

In addition, Wipro will deploy its WEGA agent-native delivery platform to help enterprises transition from legacy technology environments to scalable, AI-ready data architectures.

Shared commitment
Wipro Ltd Managing Partner, Technology Services, Kanwar Singh, said the partnership reflects the shared commitment of both companies to help enterprises realise tangible business value from AI.

“Our long-standing collaboration with Databricks reflects a shared commitment to help enterprises move from AI experimentation to measurable value. The business practice will bring together platform specialists, consulting expertise, and industry teams to co-create solutions that accelerate data transformation and enterprise-wide AI adoption.”

Databricks, Senior Vice President,  Partnerships, Kori O’Brien, said the collaboration would help organisations build trusted data foundations while deploying production-ready AI solutions at scale.

“This global practice with Wipro will enable enterprises to build trusted data foundations and deploy production-ready AI at scale, turning data intelligence into real, measurable business impact.”

Built on proven AI deployments
Wipro said the new business practice builds on experience gained from delivering more than 300 agentic AI and data use cases across industries including banking and financial services, healthcare, telecom, manufacturing and energy.

The company also highlighted that the collaboration has been recognised by Databricks with the 2025 Banking Partner of the Year Award and the 2026 Innovation Partner of the Year Award.

Going forward, the two companies aim to help enterprises become AI-driven organisations that are secure by design, resilient by default and equipped for the next phase of digital transformation.
