Renault India, the wholly owned subsidiary of Renault Group, has launched the new Triber 100PS at an introductory price of ₹7.84 lakh (ex-showroom), marking the Indian debut of the Renault Group Entry Platform (RGEP).

The new Triber combines the brand’s modular seven-seat format with a 100 PS turbocharged petrol engine, upgraded vehicle dynamics and a claimed fuel efficiency of 21 kmpl. With its sub-four-metre length and 1.0-litre petrol engine, the vehicle also qualifies for the 18% GST rate applicable to small petrol cars.

First Renault India product on RGEP
The Triber 100PS is the first Renault India vehicle built on the new RGEP architecture, which has been developed to support multiple powertrain options and evolving regulatory requirements.

Renault said the vehicle is not merely a powertrain upgrade but has been comprehensively re-engineered, covering engine management, thermal systems, chassis, structural integration, suspension, braking and vehicle dynamics.

Power comes from the turbocharged TCe 100 engine, producing 100 PS and 180 Nm of torque. The powertrain is supported by a new Renault Engine Management System and an advanced thermal-management system featuring a brushless DC cooling fan.

The engineering package also includes revised suspension geometry, front and rear anti-roll bars, MTV damper technology and dedicated vehicle-dynamics tuning for Indian road conditions.

Seven-seat flexibility retainedThe Triber 100PS retains its five-, six- and seven-seat configurations, with Easy-Fix third-row seats and slide-and-recline second-row seats. The vehicle offers up to 625 litres of boot space with five seats and 182 mm of ground clearance.

“Renault India has made the Triber 100PS an important step in its product roadmap,” said Renault India Vice President – Sales & Marketing Francisco Hidalgo. He said the combination of 100 PS, 180 Nm, seven-seat flexibility, 21 kmpl efficiency and pricing from ₹7.84 lakh is aimed at meeting the requirements of Indian families.

Renault Group India Head – Renault Engineering Dr. Vikraman Vellandi said the development involved integrating the engine, thermal-management, structural, suspension, braking and vehicle-dynamics systems as a single package.

Features and safety
Depending on the variant, the Triber 100PS gets an eight-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital LED instrument cluster, automatic air-conditioning, cruise control, wireless charging, rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlamps. Independent rear air-conditioning provides vents for the second and third rows.

Six airbags and 21 safety features are standard. Higher variants also offer front parking sensors, rear-view camera and tyre pressure monitoring.

More than 2.5 lakh Triber vehicles have been sold in India.

The Triber range starts at ₹5,80,875 for the Authentic variant and goes up to ₹8,99,900 for the turbo TCe 100 MT Techno variant. The turbo TCe 100 MT is priced from ₹7,84,900.
