IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Makson India Hospitality Pvt Ltd for the InterContinental Jaipur Achrol Resort, as the hospitality major continues to expand its luxury portfolio in India’s fast-growing leisure and destination wedding markets.
Scheduled to open in early 2030, the 225-key luxury resort will come up on a 16-acre land parcel along the Delhi–Jaipur Road in Achrol, Rajasthan. The property will feature 36 villas and 189 guest rooms designed to offer an immersive luxury resort experience.
Expansion in Jaipur market
The upcoming property will be the fourth IHG-branded hotel within Jaipur city limits and the second InterContinental hotel in the market.
IHG Hotels & Resorts Managing Director, South West Asia, Sudeep Jain said India continues to present significant opportunities in the luxury hospitality segment, driven by rising demand for leisure travel and destination-led celebrations.
Strengthening luxury and lifestyle portfolio
“IHG Hotels & Resorts is delighted to partner with Makson India Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. to launch InterContinental Jaipur Achrol Resort. This signing reflects our continued commitment to strengthening IHG’s luxury and lifestyle portfolio in the country and reinforces our ambition to be the partner of choice for luxury hospitality in India,” he said.
He added that Achrol is emerging as an attractive destination due to its proximity to Jaipur and its blend of heritage, nature and accessibility.
“With InterContinental Jaipur Achrol Resort, we aim to create a landmark destination that caters to leisure travellers as well as large-scale social celebrations,” Jain added.
Luxury tourism demand rises
Jaipur, a key part of India’s Golden Triangle tourist circuit, continues to witness strong tourism demand owing to its cultural heritage and iconic attractions such as Amer Fort, Jantar Mantar and the Walled City. The city has also emerged as a major destination for weddings and large-format social events.
InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, IHG’s flagship luxury brand, currently has more than 240 hotels globally and 104 properties in the pipeline.
Resort to feature banquet and wellness facilities
The resort will include four dining options, including an all-day dining restaurant, specialty restaurant, lobby lounge and pool bar.
The property will also house extensive event and banquet facilities, including a ballroom, targeting weddings and social gatherings. Other planned amenities include a club lounge, spa, fitness centre, swimming pool, retail outlets and parking facilities.
