JK Cement Ltd announced the expansion of its cement grinding units at Panna in Madhya Pradesh and Hamirpur in Uttar Pradesh by one million tonnes per annum (MTPA) each, as part of its Board-approved 6 MTPA expansion plan.
With the completion of the current expansion, JK Cement’s overall grey cement production capacity stands at 28.26 MTPA, including the capacity of its subsidiary.
The company commissioned clinker Line-2 at JK Cement Works, Panna, with a capacity of 1 MTPA, resulting in an increase in cement grinding capacity at the plant to 3 MTPA. Cement grinding capacity at the Hamirpur unit was also increased by 1 MTPA, taking the total capacity there to 3 MTPA.
This commissioning forms part of the company’s overall 6 MTPA expansion plan, as approved by the Board of Directors on January 20, 2024. The plan comprises brownfield expansion of clinker capacity by 3.3 MTPA and cement grinding capacity by 3 MTPA across Panna, Hamirpur, and Prayagraj (1 MTPA each), along with a greenfield cement grinding capacity of 3 MTPA in Bihar
