Joining Green Mobility Push, Toyota Unveils Its First BEV Ebella In India

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) on January 20 launched its electric Urban Cruiser Ebella, marking the company’s debut in India’s battery electric vehicle segment.

With Toyota’s global expertise in electrified mobility, Ebella brings together bold SUV styling, interior spaciousness with premium cabin experience, advanced technology and smooth, confident electric performance.

Derived from the Urban SUV Concept, Ebella represents another important step in advancing Toyota’s multipath way approach, offering customers a wider choice of electrified powertrain technologies and supporting India’s goal of energy security and decarbonisation.

The vehicle is backed by a robust service network, electrified technology trained dealer teams, an 8-year battery warranty, flexible ownership programmes (Assured Buy Back & Battery as a Service), and an expanding charging ecosystem to ensure Assured care and delightful BEV ownership experience.”

Built on ‘URBAN TECH’ design theme, the vehicle combines spacious versatility with a powerful SUV stance and sophisticated, refined styling. A strong hammerhead expression and three-dimensional design conveying advanced technology and forward motion. Inside, the cabin blends the modern feel of a BEV with the toughness and functionality of an SUV, creating a refined yet purposeful space for mobility.

With a bold hammerhead expression and three-dimensional surfaces, the BEV delivers a strong, futuristic road presence. It is available with 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery options, with latter pack producing 128 kW and 189 Nm of torque and offering a driving range of up to 543 km (Certified by ARAI) on a single charge.”

Ebella, built on a dedicated BEV platform, delivers instant torque, smooth acceleration, and a balanced drive with a low centre of gravity, and optimised aerodynamics for a quiet, refined ride. Designed for convenience, it supports multiple charging options—including CCS2 (Combined Charging System type 2) fast charging, AC wall-mount compatibility, and a portable cable which makes every day charging effortless.

With a wide stance, strong and sophisticated lower bumper with glossy black finish, stylish side mouldings, and distinctive rear lamps, the vehicle exudes SUV confidence and robust safety. Its premium LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, 18-inch alloy wheels, and aerodynamic design combine with the 5.2m turning radius for agile handling and high-performance driving.

Ebella comes with lithium-iron phosphate batteries, front-wheel drive, smooth acceleration, and features an energy-saving heat pump and manual battery pre-heating for cold-weather performance.

Ebella offers a vibrant range of monotone (Enticing silver, Café White, Sportin red, Gaming grey and Bluish Black) and dual-tone colour options (Enticing silver, Sportin red, Café white and Land Breeze Green). Customers can further personalise their SUV with accessories like side moulding, garnishes, rear camera upgrades, and exterior detailing.
