Neolite ZKW Bets On Pune Plant To Power Auto Lighting Growth

Neolite ZKW Lightings Limited has commissioned a new manufacturing facility in Pune as part of its broader expansion strategy to deepen engagement with leading automotive OEMs and scale up next-generation lighting solutions for India’s fast-evolving vehicle market.

The Pune plant, which began operations in December 2025, places Neolite ZKW at the heart of the Mumbai–Pune–Nashik–Aurangabad automotive corridor—a move the company says will significantly improve supply chain responsiveness, inventory efficiency and customer-specific customization. The facility is expected to play a central role in servicing marquee clients including JSW MG Motor India, Stellantis India, Tata Motors, VE Commercial Vehicles, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, Isuzu Motors India and Piaggio Vehicles.

Industry executives say proximity to OEM manufacturing hubs has become a critical differentiator as automakers accelerate model launches, electrification programmes and localisation efforts. Neolite ZKW’s Pune expansion is aimed at aligning its manufacturing footprint more closely with customer production cycles while shortening development and delivery timelines.

Beyond manufacturing, the company has also set up an independent design centre at the Pune location, equipped with advanced simulation software, optical design tools, 3D modelling, prototyping and validation capabilities. The design hub is expected to enhance in-house product development, reduce time-to-market and ensure compliance with global performance and regulatory standards—key requirements for OEM programmes.

“India continues to emerge as a strategic market for the global automotive industry,” said Won Yong Hwang, CEO of ZKW Group GmbH. “Neolite ZKW’s expansion in Pune is a positive step toward advancing next-generation automotive lighting solutions, and we see strong opportunities for continued collaboration in technology and innovation.”

For Neolite ZKW, the new facility is also a cornerstone of its medium-term growth roadmap. Chairman and Managing Director Rajesh Jain said the Pune plant reflects the company’s intent to invest in capacity, technology and talent as OEM demand becomes more sophisticated. He added that the company’s next focus will be operationalising its upcoming facility in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, to further strengthen its national manufacturing network.

The Pune facility will manufacture automotive lighting products and components spanning moulding, surface treatment and assembly. While the company is increasing its focus on electric vehicle-specific lighting solutions, its product portfolio remains powertrain-agnostic, serving both EVs and internal combustion engine vehicles.

“As electrification gathers pace, OEMs are looking for suppliers who can support both current and future platforms,” said Rajesh Soni, CEO of Neolite ZKW. “Our Pune operations are designed to address that transition, while continuing to serve conventional vehicle programmes at scale.”

With over 830 SKUs across headlamps, tail lamps, signalling systems and advanced LED-based solutions, Neolite ZKW is positioning the Pune plant as a strategic base to support rising domestic demand, export opportunities and long-term partnerships with global and Indian automakers.
