Airfloa Rail Technology Limited, a leading manufacturer of railway rolling stock components and turnkey interior solutions, has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Janatics Industrial Automation to develop and supply automatic door systems for railway coaches. The partnership will focus on automatic door solutions for modern railway platforms, including Vande Bharat trains, EMUs, and freight applications, aligning with Indian Railways’ push towards advanced, passenger-centric and safety-oriented rolling stock.
Expanding Capabilities in a Critical Railway Subsystem
Under the MoU, the product portfolio will include double leaf plug doors, automatic single leaf plug doors, pocket sliding doors, and automatic fire barrier doors. Airfloa Rail Technology will take the lead in tender participation, customer engagement, and end-to-end project execution, while leveraging Janatics’ expertise in industrial automation. Automatic door systems are increasingly becoming a standard feature in next-generation railway coaches and fleet upgrades, making this collaboration strategically significant for Airfloa’s long-term growth in the rail sector.
Strengthening Presence in Integrated Rail Tenders
The partnership enhances Airfloa’s position in both component-level and integrated railway tenders, enabling the company to address a broader range of opportunities across Indian Railways and export markets. The move supports Airfloa’s stated focus on execution clarity, commercial discipline, and sustained participation in large-scale railway programmes.
Manikandan Dakshnamoorthy, Joint Managing Director, Airfloa Rail Technology, said:“This MoU reflects our focus on strengthening critical subsystems required in modern railway coaches. By partnering with Janatics, we are adding depth to our automatic door systems capability while retaining clarity on execution and commercial alignment. The arrangement supports our participation in upcoming railway programmes in a measured and disciplined manner.”
