Axis Bank and IndiGo have entered into a strategic partnership to launch co-branded credit cards aimed at meeting the evolving travel and lifestyle needs of Indian consumers.
The partnership introduces two variants, the IndiGo Axis Bank Credit Card and the IndiGo Axis Bank Premium Credit Card, designed to reward everyday spending and travel purchases through IndiGo’s loyalty programme, IndiGo BluChip. The cards will be available on both RuPay and Visa networks, expanding customer choice and payment flexibility.
The collaboration reflects a broader shift in consumer preferences, where payments are increasingly linked to lifestyle benefits, travel rewards and seamless digital experiences. Cardholders will earn IndiGo BluChips on eligible transactions, with accelerated rewards on IndiGo bookings, alongside welcome and renewal benefits, milestone rewards and access to curated lifestyle privileges.
Priced at ₹799 plus GST, the IndiGo Axis Bank Credit Card is positioned for retail customers seeking a blend of travel rewards and everyday value. The premium variant, priced at ₹5,000 plus GST, targets affluent customers and frequent travellers with enhanced reward rates, international lounge access and reduced forex markup.
Both cards offer accelerated earnings across key categories such as groceries, dining and travel, UPI-linked reward benefits, and complimentary airport lounge access. Premium cardholders also gain access to international lounges and exclusive lifestyle offers across entertainment and dining platforms.
Announcing the launch, Arnika Dixit, president and head, cards, payments and wealth management at Axis Bank, said the partnership brings together banking and travel to deliver greater customer value. She noted that the cards are designed to cater to both casual travellers and frequent flyers by combining exclusive travel benefits, accelerated rewards and seamless access to privileges. The collaboration, she added, reflects Axis Bank’s focus on innovation and customer-centric product design.
From IndiGo’s perspective, the partnership strengthens engagement with its loyal flyer base. Neetan Chopra, chief digital and information officer at IndiGo, said the co-branded cards convert everyday spending into BluChips, enhancing the airline’s value proposition while combining IndiGo’s reliable service with Axis Bank’s banking reach. He added that the premium lifestyle benefits embedded in the cards will make customers’ journeys more rewarding.
The launch also underlines role of payment networks in enabling differentiated consumer offerings. NPCI executive director Sohini Rajola said the introduction of the card on the RuPay network aligns with NPCI’s focus on secure, scalable and inclusive digital payment experiences, offering customers a structured way to earn rewards across varied spends.
Similarly, Rishi Chhabra, country manager, India at Visa, noted that Indian consumers are increasingly seeking experiences rather than just transactions. He said the IndiGo–Axis Bank Visa cards are designed to reflect these aspirations by combining travel-led rewards with meaningful lifestyle privileges.
