Concord Control Arm Wins ₹54-Cr Kavach 4.0 Order From Indian Railways

Concord Control Systems Ltd on Friday said its associate company, Progota India Pvt Ltd, has secured an order worth ₹53.73 crore from the Indian Railways for deployment of onboard Kavach 4.0 equipment.

The order entails the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of onboard Kavach 4.0 systems, India’s indigenously developed Automatic Train Protection (ATP) technology designed to prevent train collisions, over speeding and signal passing at danger. The project is scheduled for execution within 12 months.

The development further strengthens Concord’s presence in railway safety systems under the Centre’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

Concord Control Systems Joint Managing Director Gaurav Lath said the order validates the company’s technological capabilities and long-standing association with Indian Railways.

“This significant order is a strong validation of our technological expertise, execution capabilities, and long-standing partnership with Indian Railways. At Concord, we are deeply committed to strengthening India’s railway safety ecosystem through indigenous, future-ready solutions,” he said.

Joint Managing Director Nitin Jain said the repeat mandate reinforces Concord’s position in India’s railway safety modernisation programme.

“This field order is not just a validation of our engineering capabilities but also a stepping stone for scaling our Kavach deployment across the Indian Railways network. We are confident that our fully in-house developed system will set new benchmarks for safety, reliability and self-reliance in railway technology,” he said.

Track Record of Kavach Orders

Concord has been steadily expanding its footprint in Kavach 4.0 deployments through Progota India, in which it holds a substantial stake.

In September 2025, the company secured a ₹19-crore field order from South Central Railway, marking its first major deployment and validating its in-house Safety Integrity Level 4 (SiL4)-certified technology.

This was followed in early February 2026 by a significantly larger ₹185-crore contract for onboard locomotive equipment, also routed through Progota India, with a 12-month execution timeline.

The latest ₹54-crore order builds on these milestones and aligns with nationwide Kavach rollouts aimed at modernising India’s rail infrastructure. The company has also received approvals from the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) for its Kavach solutions, further supporting scalability across the railway network.

With multiple orders in hand and ongoing deployments, Concord continues to position itself as a key player in India’s railway safety and indigenisation drive.
