Godrej Properties Wins 5-Acre Land Bid off EM Bypass, Kolkata
Leading realty developer Godrej Properties Ltd (GPL) has won the bid for a prime five-acre land parcel off EM Bypass in Kolkata through an e-auction conducted by West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (WBHIDCO).
The proposed premium residential development is expected to generate an estimated revenue potential of approximately ₹1,650 crore.
The EM Bypass corridor is among Kolkata’s fastest-growing and best-connected urban stretches, supported by strong physical and social infrastructure. It links key neighbourhoods such as Salt Lake, New Town, Park Circus, Gariahat, and Garia, providing seamless access to commercial hubs, IT-ITeS clusters, educational institutions, and leading healthcare facilities.
Connectivity is further strengthened by multiple flyovers, arterial connectors, and proximity to the under-construction Garia–Airport metro line. The location also offers convenient road access to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, enhancing its appeal as a future-ready residential micro-market.
Managing Director & CEO Gaurav Pandey said Kolkata homebuyers are increasingly prioritising neighbourhoods with strong connectivity, reliable social infrastructure, and homes aligned with evolving lifestyle needs.
“The EM Bypass micro-market reflects this shift, making it an important location for us to deepen our presence. With this acquisition, we endeavour to create a well-planned residential community that supports quality living, adapts to how families want to live today, and continues to deliver long-term value for our customers,” he said
