JSW MG Motor’s e-Hub Turns India’s Largest Unified EV Charging App

CW Bureau ·

JSW MG Motor India has announced that its e-Hub by MG app has become the country’s largest unified EV charging platform, listing more than 22,500 charging points nationwide.

The app now integrates 40 leading charge point operators (CPOs), including Jio-bp, Tata Power, Adani Total Gas, Shell India, Zeon Charging, Charge Zone and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. By bringing multiple operators onto a single interface, the platform aims to eliminate fragmentation in India’s rapidly expanding EV charging landscape.

Crossing 1.5 Lakh Downloads

Alongside infrastructure expansion, the e-Hub app has crossed 150,000 downloads, an indicator of growing EV adoption and rising demand for interoperable charging solutions. The company has also rolled out new features designed to enhance user experience, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, charger reviews and ratings, a smart trip planner, and information on nearby amenities.

These upgrades transform the app from a basic charger locator into a comprehensive EV journey management tool. Users can now locate, reserve, and pay for charging sessions within a single ecosystem, reducing range anxiety and improving travel planning efficiency.

Data Signals Growing EV Momentum

Since launch, the e-Hub platform has facilitated over 1.5 GWh of energy dispensing, enabled more than 670,000 green trips, and supported the planning of over 300 million green kilometres. These metrics position the app not merely as a utility tool but as a digital backbone supporting sustainable mobility at scale.

JSW MG Motor India Chief Commercial Officer Vinay Raina noted that the platform is being embraced by both MG and non-MG EV customers. He emphasised that aggregating leading CPOs onto a single intuitive interface empowers users with choice and convenience, while strengthening confidence in EV ownership.

Building an Interoperable EV Ecosystem

India’s EV charging ecosystem has often been criticised for fragmentation, with multiple networks operating in silos. By aggregating 40 operators into one app, MG is attempting to address this challenge through digital integration rather than physical infrastructure ownership alone.

The move reflects a broader industry shift: automakers are increasingly positioning themselves not just as vehicle manufacturers but as ecosystem orchestrators. In this case, the e-Hub app functions as a neutral mobility platform serving the wider EV community, irrespective of vehicle brand.

As India accelerates its transition toward electrified mobility, unified digital platforms such as e-Hub could play a pivotal role in improving accessibility, convenience, and consumer confidence, three critical pillars for sustained EV adoption.
