India’s leading omnichannel travel services company Thomas Cook (India) Ltd has strengthened its presence in central India with the launch of its first outlet in Gwalior, expanding its network to six outlets across Madhya Pradesh.
Strategically located in the City Centre of Gwalior, the new outlet is positioned to serve customers from the city as well as nearby towns such as Morena, Dabra, Datia and Shivpuri, creating a strong catchment for the company’s holiday and travel services business.
The location, situated close to key commercial hubs and residential neighbourhoods, is expected to attract strong customer footfall. It will cater to a diverse set of travellers including multi-generational families, couples, millennials, Gen Z travellers and senior citizens (GenS).
The outlet will serve a broad spectrum of travellers ranging from value-conscious holidaymakers to premium customers seeking curated travel experiences.
Given Gwalior’s proximity to Delhi, there is strong demand for popular domestic travel destinations such as Kashmir, Leh-Ladakh and other northern circuits, and the new outlet will support this growing travel demand.
The Gwalior branch will offer end-to-end travel services, including international and domestic holidays such as group tours, personalised holidays and cruises. Customers will also have access to value-added services such as travel insurance and visa assistance.
Additionally, Thomas Cook’s AI-powered booking platform enables customers to plan personalised holidays in real time by checking availability and completing bookings within minutes.
Travel trends emerging from Gwalior and Madhya Pradesh indicate a growing appetite for both domestic and international travel. Holiday durations have increased from three days earlier to five to eight days for short trips, and from five days to 10–15 days for longer vacations.
Cruise holidays are also gaining popularity as travellers increasingly look for experience-driven, all-inclusive vacations. Demand for experiential travel is rising, including Northern Lights tours in Scandinavia, self-drive holidays, island stays in Maldives and Mauritius, and adventure travel to Ladakh and the North-East.
Pilgrimage and spiritual tourism also continue to witness strong demand from the region.
At the same time, travellers are exploring new international destinations such as Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, the Philippines and Morocco.
“The launch of our first outlet in Gwalior enables us to strategically deepen our presence in the state. Strategically chosen for its central location, this new outlet will enhance our ability to serve the growing and diverse needs of customers in the region, offering easy access and seamless services while delivering both group and customised holiday solutions to our customers right at their doorstep,” said Thomas Cook President & Country Head – Holidays, MICE, Visa, Rajeev Kale.
