Private sector lender City Union Bank has entered into a quadripartite agreement with Centific Global Solutions Inc, Sastra University, and nStore Retech Pvt Ltd to establish a Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence for Banking (CoE/AIDF).
Under the agreement, City Union Bank will participate as a Business Partner, contributing domain expertise, industry insights, and support for the development and testing of AI-based solutions tailored for banking operations.
The proposed Centre of Excellence will focus on developing and deploying AI-driven banking applications, including fraud detection, credit risk analytics, customer behaviour modelling, and regulatory compliance automation.
The initiative is also expected to support the bank’s ongoing digital transformation efforts while helping build industry-ready talent in artificial intelligence for the banking sector.
The CoE will facilitate this through academic programmes, internships, and certification courses in collaboration with the academic and technology partners.
As part of the partnership framework, City Union Bank will nominate a senior executive as the industry co-chair of the Governing Council of the AI Centre of Excellence for Banking, strengthening industry–academia collaboration in the development of AI solutions for financial services.
As part of the plan Centific Global Solutions will be the technology partner, Sastra University the knowledge partner and nStore Retech the implementation partner.
