Hyundai India Refreshes Verna At ₹10.98 Lakh To Take On Sedan Battle

Hyundai Motor India has unveiled new Verna  positioning the upgraded sedan as a bold statement in the premium mid-size car segment at a time when SUVs continue to dominate buyer preferences in India. The new Verna will be available at a starting price of ₹10.98 lakh.

With sharper styling, new technology features and an aggressive youth-focused marketing campaign, the company is seeking to reinforce the Verna’s image as one of the most aspirational sedans in the market.

The launch reflects Hyundai’s strategy to keep the sedan segment relevant through design innovation, performance focus and advanced digital features. According to the automaker, the new Verna has been engineered to deliver a blend of stability, safety, performance and premium comfort, attributes that have traditionally defined the brand’s positioning in India’s competitive mid-size sedan category.

Hyundai Motor India  MD & CEO Tarun Garg  said the model represents more than just a routine upgrade. “The new Hyundai Verna is more than a product upgrade, it is a statement. In a market that often shifts towards trends, we remain committed to engineering excellence and driving purity,” he said. Garg added that the car has been crafted for customers who seek refinement without compromise and performance without limits.

The company has paired the launch with a new marketing campaign titled “Respect the Young,” aimed at celebrating the ambitions of India’s younger generation. Hyundai says the campaign reflects a cultural shift in which young Indians are increasingly leading in business, innovation and public service, earning recognition through confidence and authenticity rather than waiting for traditional hierarchies to change. The Verna, the company argues, mirrors this spirit by combining bold design with high performance.

Visually, the sedan receives a sharper and more dynamic exterior profile designed to enhance its road presence. Hyundai says the car retains the longest wheelbase in the segment at 2,670 mm, while also claiming to be among the widest sedans in its class at 1,765 mm with an overall length of 4,565 mm. New design highlights include a black chrome radiator grille, dual LED projector headlamps, redesigned front and rear bumpers and R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin, Hyundai has introduced several features aimed at improving comfort and convenience. These include a D-cut steering wheel, leatherette seat upholstery and electrically adjustable seats for both driver and passenger. The sedan also introduces several segment-first features such as a driver memory seat with welcome retract function, an electric walk-in device for the passenger seat and a rear window sunshade. The model also offers a segment-leading boot capacity of 528 litres.

Technology remains a central focus for the updated Verna. The car is equipped with Hyundai’s Bluelink connected car platform, offering more than 70 connected features including remote lamp control and a “Find My Car” function. The system also supports over 350 voice commands along with multi-language user interfaces for the digital cluster and infotainment system.

The dashboard integrates two 10.25-inch displays—one for infotainment and the other for the digital instrument cluster, claimed by Hyundai to be the largest in the segment. Other features include a surround-view monitor, blind-spot view monitor, wireless smartphone charging, ventilated front seats, a smart key with push-button start and wireless smartphone connectivity through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The new Verna will be available in six monotone colours and one dual-tone option, including newly introduced shades such as Classy Blue and Titan Grey Matte, reflecting Hyundai’s effort to appeal to style-conscious urban buyers.
