Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched its seventh Gemini Experience Centre (GEC) at its Innovation Hub in Troy, Michigan, in partnership with Google Cloud, focusing on developing advanced Physical AI solutions for the manufacturing sector.
The new facility is designed to help manufacturers explore and deploy artificial intelligence solutions that can improve safety, quality, and operational efficiency on the shop floor.
It marks a key milestone in the global expansion of TCS’ Gemini Experience Centres, which serve as innovation hubs for enterprises looking to scale AI adoption.
TCS and Google Cloud plan to establish 13 Gemini Experience Centres worldwide by the end of 2026, with six additional centres scheduled to open this year. These facilities are aimed at helping companies move beyond isolated AI pilots and implement scalable, production-ready AI transformation programmes.
The Troy centre introduces the TCS Physical AI Blueprint, an end-to-end framework that integrates AI-powered quadruped and humanoid robotics with advanced sensing, edge intelligence, and secure cloud orchestration.
The framework enables real-time operational insights and autonomous decision support for manufacturing environments.
Key applications at the centre include autonomous patrolling and surveillance, environmental anomaly detection, personal protective equipment compliance monitoring, intelligent quality inspection, progress tracking, and predictive equipment health monitoring.
TCS President – Manufacturing Anupam Singhal said Physical AI represents the next stage of industrial transformation, where intelligence moves closer to real-world operations.
“Physical AI enables manufacturers to extend visibility and decision-making into environments that are difficult, risky, or inefficient for humans to access. Designed with a human-in-the-loop approach, it works alongside the workforce to enhance safety, resilience, and operational awareness,” he said.
Google Cloud Vice President and General Manager, Cloud AI Saurabh Tiwary said the collaboration aims to accelerate the deployment of agentic AI in industrial operations.
“Through the new Physical AI Gemini Experience Centre, manufacturers can build more autonomous, resilient, and data-driven enterprises while optimising their business models with Google Cloud technology,” he said.
The Troy facility strengthens TCS’ global innovation network, which includes existing six GEC’s in Bengaluru, New York, Chennai, Riyadh, Singapore, and Sao Paulo. These centres are part of the company’s innovation ecosystem that connects enterprises with startups, academic institutions, and emerging technologies.
The initiative also aligns with the expanding TCS–Google Cloud partnership to broaden enterprise access to Gemini Enterprise and enable the development of custom AI agents that integrate with Google Cloud and third-party platforms.
