John Deere has unveiled its 5M Series 5130M (130 HP) tractor in India as part of its Power & Technology Show, reiterating the company’s focus on precision agriculture, digital farming solutions and advanced farm mechanisation.
The launch marks another step in John Deere’s efforts to bring technology-driven agricultural solutions to Indian farmers, helping improve productivity while supporting sustainable farming practices.
Strengthening Precision Agriculture In India
John Deere India MD & country manager Rajesh Sinha said the company’s strategy revolves around integrating precision agriculture, digital tools and smart connected machinery.
These technologies help farmers optimise field operations, reduce input costs and adopt more efficient crop management practices.
He also highlighted that John Deere’s presence in India extends beyond manufacturing, with the country playing a significant role in global R&D, engineering, IT, supply chain operations and road construction equipment development.
Introducing Advanced Farming Technologies
Alongside the unveiling of the 5130M tractor, the company showcased several new technologies aimed at enhancing farm efficiency and connectivity.
These include Front Hitch and Front PTO application on the 5130M tractor, 5E AutoTrac, a straight-row vehicle guidance system designed to improve field precision, Green System Link, a factory-fitted connectivity solution for equipment monitoring and radial tyre upgrades for the 5405 and 5075E tractor models.
John Deere India sales and marketing director Ramakant Garg said modern agriculture requires the integration of advanced farm machinery with evolving agronomy practices.
The company’s Power and Technology 7.0 initiative is designed to bring together these innovations to support the next generation of farming in India.
