VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), a joint venture between Eicher Motors and Volvo Group, has announced the appointment of B. Srinivas as its new MD & and CEO, effective April 1, 2026. The leadership transition marks a significant step as the company aims to strengthen its position in India’s rapidly evolving commercial vehicle sector.
Srinivas brings more than three decades of experience within the Eicher ecosystem, having handled diverse responsibilities across strategy, sales, marketing, operations, and product development. Since 2024, he has been serving as the chief operating officer of VECV.
Before taking on the COO role, Srinivas led the company’s product strategy and purchasing operations from 2022 to 2024. Between 2018 and 2022, he played a key role in expanding the Eicher Bus business at VECV, contributing significantly to the brand’s growth in the commercial mobility segment.
With deep industry knowledge, cross-functional expertise, and strong leadership capabilities, Srinivas is expected to guide VECV into its next phase of growth and innovation in the commercial vehicle market.
Vinod Aggarwal To Take Over As Chairman
As part of leadership change, Vinod Aggarwal, vice chairman of Eicher Motors Ltd, will assume the role of chairman of the VECV board from April 1, 2026, as the nominee of Eicher Motors. Aggarwal will step down from his current role as MD & CEO of VECV after leading the company for 16 years.
He will succeed Sofia Frandberg, who completes her three-year tenure as chairperson and nominee of the Volvo Group. Frandberg will continue to remain on the board of VECV.
Additionally, Rajinder Singh Sachdeva, who recently retired as deputy CEO and chief transformation officer of VECV, has been nominated to the board as a representative of Eicher Motors. He replaces Raul Rai, who steps down as director after serving on the board since the inception of the company.
Leadership Endorsement
Commenting on the transition, Siddhartha Lal, chairman of Eicher Motors Ltd, expressed confidence in Srinivas’ leadership.
He noted that Srinivas’ customer-centric approach, technological understanding, and collaborative leadership style would benefit the company significantly as it moves forward.
Lal also acknowledged Aggarwal’s four-decade-long contribution to the Eicher Group, highlighting his role in shaping VECV’s growth since its inception.

Reflecting on the company’s journey, Sofia Frandberg said VECV represents a strong partnership between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors. Since the formation of the joint venture in 2008, the company has steadily expanded through strategic investments in products, manufacturing capacity, technology, and distribution networks. Today, VECV has emerged as a key player in India’s commercial vehicle industry.
