Sigma Advanced Systems Divests Extrovis Stake For ₹137.6 Cr

Hyderabad-based Sigma Advanced Systems Ltd., an aero-engine and aero structure components manufacturer, has divested its entire 36.52% equity stake in non-core Switzerland-based pharmaceutical company Extrovis AG for ₹137.61 crore.

By exiting the non-core pharmaceutical investment, Sigma plans to redeploy capital toward strengthening manufacturing capabilities, pursuing strategic acquisitions, and expanding its presence across global defence and aerospace supply chains. The move provides the company with greater financial flexibility.

Sigma Advanced Systems CEO Sunil Kalidindi said the transaction aligns with the company’s strategy of sharpening its focus on aerospace and defence manufacturing.

“The divestment of our stake in Extrovis AG is a deliberate step in sharpening Sigma’s focus as a global aerospace and defence manufacturing company. As we scale our capabilities following the Nasmyth and AS Strategic acquisitions and deepen our presence in international defence ecosystems, it is important that our capital and strategic priorities remain aligned with this direction,” he said.

According to Kalidindi, the transaction strengthens the company’s balance sheet and provides flexibility to invest in new capabilities and strategic opportunities as Sigma.

The development comes as Sigma continues to expand its international footprint. Recently, the company acquired Delhi-based AS Strategic, a defence and space-focused firm with strong links to European defence ecosystems. AS Strategic operates through long-term joint ventures and exclusive service partnerships with leading global defence OEMs.

The acquisition builds on Sigma’s earlier purchase of the Nasmyth Group in the UK, which significantly expanded its manufacturing presence across the UK and Europe.

While Nasmyth strengthened Sigma’s precision manufacturing capabilities and Tier-1 supply chain integration, AS Strategic adds deeper programme access, customer relationships and system-level participation within European defence programmes.

Together, these acquisitions position Sigma as a globally integrated aerospace and defence company, capable of executing complex international programmes while anchoring manufacturing and talent in India.

The company is also expanding its order pipeline. Recently, Sigma secured new defence orders worth around ₹100 crore from the Defence Ministry and associated defence PSUs, reflecting continued demand for its defence electronics and mission-critical systems.

Sigma said it will continue to pursue organic expansion alongside targeted acquisitions, with several opportunities currently under evaluation.
