No Impact On Production, Flexible Energy Strategy In Place: Britannia

Britannia Industries MD & CEO Rakshit Hargave

As geopolitical tensions in West Asia continue to cast uncertainty over global energy and industrial supply chains, Indian manufacturers are facing growing questions about the potential impact on production. Responding to market speculation, Britannia Industries MD & CEO Rakshit Hargave has clarified that the company’s manufacturing operations remain unaffected despite concerns over possible industrial gas supply disruptions.

The clarification comes amid industry-wide anxiety triggered by reports suggesting that the ongoing conflict in West Asia could disrupt the availability of critical industrial gases and fuels used across manufacturing sectors.

No Impact On Production

In a statement addressing the rumours, Britannia said it has received multiple enquiries regarding whether its operations could face disruptions due to industrial gas supply issues linked to the geopolitical situation.

The company emphasised that its manufacturing network across India continues to function smoothly and has not experienced any significant disruption so far.

According to Hargave, Britannia’s production facilities remain fully operational and continue to supply products to markets without interruption.

Flexible Energy Strategy

A key factor behind the company’s resilience is its diversified fuel strategy. Britannia’s manufacturing plants use a mix of energy sources, including LPG, PNG, biomass and liquid fuels, allowing facilities to switch between fuels when necessary through technical adjustments.

This flexibility gives the company an operational cushion at a time when energy supply chains are under scrutiny due to geopolitical developments in oil-producing regions.

Industry observers say such multi-fuel capabilities are increasingly critical for large manufacturing companies seeking to protect operations from sudden supply shocks.

Adequate Inventory Across Supply Chain

Britannia also highlighted that it currently maintains adequate levels of finished goods across its supply chain network. This ensures that market demand can continue to be met without any immediate risk of product shortages.

The company’s distribution ecosystem, spanning warehouses, distributors and retailers, remains well stocked, reinforcing confidence among trade partners and consumers.

Closely Monitoring Developments

While reassuring stakeholders about current stability, the company said it remains vigilant and is closely monitoring global developments that could influence energy supplies.

Britannia added that it will take appropriate steps to ensure continuity of operations if the situation evolves.

For now, the company remains confident that it can effectively manage emerging challenges while keeping its factories running and products flowing to store shelves across the country.
