Takeshi Hirano Assumes Charge As Isuzu Motors India Deputy MD

Isuzu Motors India Pvt. Ltd. (IMI), a subsidiary of Isuzu Motors Limited, as part of its business plan has announced a change in its senior management with the appointment of Takeshi Hirano as Deputy Managing Director.

Takeshi Hirano, currently associated with the Isuzu Business Division at Mitsubishi Corporation, Japan, succeeds Toru Kishimoto, who will take up a new assignment at the parent company in Japan.

Hirano brings over two decades of experience in distribution and marketing across global markets for Isuzu. During his career, he has held various roles overseeing operations in multiple international markets for both Isuzu Motors and Mitsubishi Corporation.

He is also familiar with the Indian market, having earlier served at Isuzu Motors India Pvt. Ltd. as Vice President, Sales and Marketing, where he played a key role in establishing the brand’s presence in the country.

IMI was established in August 2012 and sells models such as the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, Isuzu Hi-Lander, Isuzu mu-X and variants of the Isuzu D-Max for the commercial vehicle segment. The company recently launched a fully built ambulance model that meets the AIS-125 Type C specifications.

Isuzu Motors India manufactures its vehicles at its plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The facility began operations in April 2016. In February 2020, the company commenced Phase-II operations with the inauguration of a press shop facility and an engine assembly plant.
