Fuel Crisis: Ola Electric’s EndICEAge Targets Petrol Two-Wheeler Users

CW Bureau ·

At a time when global tensions in West Asia are tightening crude oil supplies and triggering concerns over fuel availability in India, electric vehicle makers are seizing the moment to push the case for alternatives to petrol-powered mobility.

Leading EV manufacturer Ola Electric has launched a nationwide campaign titled EndICEAge, positioning electric two-wheelers as a practical response to rising petrol costs and the growing inconvenience of fuel dependence.

Through the EndICEAge initiative, Ola Electric aims to transform this moment of disruption into an opportunity to accelerate India’s transition toward electric mobility.

Turning Petrol Pain Into An EV Push

The EndICEAge campaign is built around a simple narrative: rising fuel prices and frequent visits to petrol pumps are problems that electric vehicles can eliminate.

By framing petrol dependency as both expensive and outdated, the campaign encourages riders across India to consider a permanent shift toward electric mobility. According to the company, the current fuel situation provides a powerful reminder of the economic advantages of electric vehicles, which eliminate daily fuel purchases and reduce running costs significantly.

To accelerate adoption, Ola Electric has rolled out limited-period benefits worth more than ₹20,000 for customers purchasing its electric two-wheelers.

The offer, available for three days until March 16, 2026, includes a ₹10,000 cash discount and an extended eight-year battery warranty valued at up to ₹15,000. Together, these incentives aim to combine immediate savings with long-term assurance for customers considering the switch to electric.

A Social Campaign To Highlight Petrol Savings

The company has also introduced a social media initiative designed to amplify the economic argument for electric mobility.

Under the EndICEAge initiative, customers purchasing an Ola electric two-wheeler between now and March 16 are invited to share their transition from petrol to electric on social media. Participants can upload their petrol bills from the previous month while tagging Ola Electric and using the EndICEAge campaign hashtag.

Each day, the company plans to select three standout entries and offset their petrol expenses against the payment made for their electric vehicle purchase.

The initiative seeks to create a public conversation around the cost of petrol-based commuting while demonstrating the potential savings offered by electric alternatives.

Breaking The Petrol Cycle

According to an Ola Electric spokesperson, the campaign reflects a broader effort to challenge what the company describes as India’s long-standing reliance on petrol-based mobility.

“For decades, India has been stuck in the petrol cycle, rising fuel prices, constant visits to petrol pumps, and a mobility system built on outdated technology,” the spokesperson said.

“With EndICEAge, we’re inviting riders across the country to break free from petrol dependency and move to electric. Our S1 scooters and Roadster motorcycles offer a cleaner, smarter and far more economical way to commute. The future of mobility is electric, and EndICEAge is about accelerating that shift across India.”
