IndiGo Reworks West Asia Network, Maintains 252 Weekly Flights

CW Bureau ·

As geopolitical tensions continue to reshape aviation dynamics in the West Asia, IndiGo has cautiously recalibrated its flight operations across the region while maintaining critical connectivity between India and key West Asian destinations.

The airline announced that it will operate 252 weekly flights to and from West Asia between March 16 and March 28, 2026, as it adjusts schedules in response to the evolving situation in the region. The move reflects the carrier’s strategy of balancing operational continuity with safety considerations amid ongoing uncertainties.

IndiGo said it is largely restoring its regular operations, with 126 weekly flights to and from Saudi Arabia and 28 weekly flights to and from Oman. Additionally, the airline will operate 98 weekly flights connecting India with the United Arab Emirates, maintaining vital passenger and business travel corridors.

The airline noted that the adjustments come against the backdrop of geopolitical risks, airspace restrictions, airport constraints, and steadily rising fuel and insurance costs, which have collectively created a challenging operating environment for airlines flying through the region. By aligning capacity with current conditions, IndiGo aims to ensure safe and reliable operations while safeguarding its network stability.

Despite the adjustments, passengers travelling from the Middle East will continue to enjoy connectivity to multiple destinations across India and beyond through IndiGo’s extensive domestic and international network.

However, as part of the temporary network realignment, flights to several destinations in the region will remain suspended until March 28, 2026. These include services to Doha, Kuwait, Bahrain, Dammam, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah.

IndiGo added that it remains prepared to operate additional ad hoc flights for stranded passengers if required, underscoring its commitment to supporting travellers during the disruption.

To keep customers informed, the airline is providing real-time updates through its website and social media channels, while urging passengers to check the latest flight information and travel advisories before planning their journeys.

As the regional situation continues to evolve, IndiGo said it is working closely with relevant authorities and will continue to adapt its operations accordingly, reiterating that the safety and security of passengers, crew and aircraft remain its highest priority.
