Tejas Secures 4G Expansion Deal In South Asia, Scales Up Global Footprint

CW Bureau ·

Tejas Networks has secured a purchase order to supply its advanced 4G Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions for a mobile network expansion project in South Asia, marking another milestone in the company’s efforts to grow its international wireless customer base.

As part of the project, Tejas Networks will deploy its multi-band 4G radio products across several locations within the mobile operator’s network. The deployment is expected to enhance network coverage, capacity, and performance while supporting the operator’s broader digital connectivity goals in the region.

Industry observers note that the order highlights the growing demand for cost-efficient and scalable network infrastructure solutions as telecom operators expand 4G networks and prepare for future 5G upgrades.

Expanding Global Wireless Presence

According to Tejas Networks chief strategy and business officer Sanjay Malik, the deal represents continued momentum in the company’s global wireless ambitions.

“We look forward to growing our presence in the customer’s network while replicating this success in other 4G/5G mobile networks, both in India and across the globe,” said Malik.

Integrated Network Technology

The company offers a comprehensive wireless product portfolio, including 4G and 5G RAN solutions as well as a converged 4G/5G core platform. Its radio units are designed for flexible deployment with support for multi-band and multi-mode operations, enabling telecom operators to roll out networks efficiently across diverse environments.

A key component of the solution is the company’s TJ1400 UltraFlex baseband platform, which integrates wireless, broadband, transport, and IP networking technologies within a compact chassis. This integration significantly reduces the cost and complexity of network build-outs for both mobile and fixed broadband operators.

Tejas Networks chief technology officer Kumar N Sivarajan said the partnership would strengthen the operator’s technology ecosystem.

“Our South Asian customer now has a trusted and proven technology partner capable of addressing diverse network requirements while benefiting from greater vendor diversity. We are fully committed to supporting them with innovative and well-differentiated solutions to optimally meet their network performance and user experience objectives,” he said.

Tejas Networks is part of the Tata Group, with Panatone Finvest Ltd, a subsidiary of Tata Sons, holding a majority stake in the company.
