Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF) has entered into a strategic four-year partnership with Schneider Electric India Foundation (SEIF) to enhance vocational training capacity and quality in the fields of electricity and automation.
The collaboration, formalised through a memorandum of understanding (MoU), will be implemented from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2029, with a focus on strengthening technical education infrastructure across government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs).
Expanding Modern Training Infrastructure
As part of the initiative, 30 state-of-the-art electrical training laboratories will be established across government ITIs in 20 districts of Tamil Nadu, targeting an outreach of over 11,000 youth. The programme will cover multiple trades, including electrical, electronics, wireman, fitter, refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) technician, and solar technician.
In addition, eight government ITIs across other states will be refurbished or upgraded—one in Odisha, two in Gujarat, one in Telangana, one in Jharkhand, and three in Karnataka—taking the total number of ITIs supported under this partnership to 38.
Integrated Approach To Skill Development
Under the partnership framework, SEIF will provide curriculum support, monitoring and evaluation systems, management information system (MIS) tools, training of trainers (ToT), expert-led guest lectures, and employment support to improve placement outcomes.
DBF will be responsible for on-ground implementation, including coordination with ITIs, procurement and installation of equipment, infrastructure development, and ensuring compliance with operational and statutory requirements.

Strengthening India’s Vocational Ecosystem
The collaboration further reinforces DBF’s broader skilling agenda by expanding access to upgraded infrastructure and building institutional capacity across multiple states. The foundation has been actively engaged in supporting vocational education through its work with ITIs and structured skilling programmes across India.
