IHCL Signs SeleQtions Hotel In Digha, Expands Presence In Eastern India

Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, has announced the signing of a new SeleQtions hotel in Digha, marking a greenfield development in one of Eastern India’s key coastal destinations.

Strengthening Presence In Emerging Tourism Hubs

The upcoming property will be developed in partnership with the Ambuja Neotia Group, further extending the long-standing collaboration between the two entities. The move aligns with IHCL’s strategy to expand its footprint in emerging leisure and spiritual tourism destinations across India.

Indian Hotels Company executive vice president,  real estate & development, Suma Venkatesh, said, “Digha is one of Eastern India’s most frequented beach destinations, and its growing relevance in spiritual tourism is widening its visitor base beyond the traditional leisure segment.”

This combination of coastal and cultural appeal is strengthening demand through the year and enhancing the destination’s hospitality potential. The signing aligns with IHCL’s focus on building emerging tourism hubs. The company is  delighted to continue its longstanding partnership with Ambuja Neotia Group for this project, Suma added.

Rich In Amenities

The 56-key IHCL SeleQtions Digha will feature an all-day dining restaurant and a bar, along with spacious meeting and event venues catering to both social and corporate gatherings. Recreational facilities will include a swimming pool, fitness centre, and spa, positioning the hotel as a premium offering in the region.

Ambuja Neotia Group, whole-time director, CEO & CFO, hospitality, Giriraj Damani, said, “We are pleased to collaborate with IHCL to bring the SeleQtions experience to Digha. This project will contribute to elevating the region’s hospitality infrastructure.”

Digha’s Growing Tourism Appeal

Located along the Bay of Bengal, Digha is known for its scenic beaches and serene coastline. Key attractions in the region include New and Old Digha beaches, Talsari Beach, Digha Science Centre, Marine Aquarium & Regional Centre, and Amarabati Park, making it a popular destination for both leisure and family tourism.

Expanding West Bengal Portfolio

With this signing, IHCL will have a total of 17 hotels in West Bengal, including nine properties under development, underscoring its commitment to expanding in the eastern region.

The Ambuja Neotia Group, headquartered in Kolkata, has established a strong presence across real estate, hospitality, healthcare, and education. Led by Harshavardhan Neotia, the group has developed landmark projects across Eastern India, including residential townships, commercial hubs, and lifestyle destinations.
