German luxury carmaker BMW has launched the highly anticipated BMW M2 CS in India, priced at ₹1.66 crore (ex-showroom). The limited-edition performance coupe will be available as a completely built-up (CBU) unit, underlining its exclusivity for enthusiasts in the country.
Positioned as a track-focused yet road-ready machine, the new M2 CS represents a significant evolution of the second-generation M2, delivering heightened performance and precision engineering.
Optimised For Ultimate Thrill
BMW Group India president & CEO Hardeep Singh Brar said, “The new BMW M2 CS is optimised for the ultimate thrill. By bringing this global track icon to Indian shores, we are catering to a growing community of enthusiasts who demand an uncompromising, pure-blooded driving experience. And while the M2 CS is born for the racetrack, it’s ready to take you wherever you need to go. It stands as a definitive driver’s machine – a bridge between peak adrenaline and the open road, offering our Indian customers a level of exclusivity and precision that only a ‘CS’ badge can deliver.”
Under the hood, the M2 CS produces an impressive 390 kW (530 hp), putting it on par with the BMW M4 Competition Coupé. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic, offered as standard.
Exterior Design Reflects Motorsport Pedigree
The exterior design reflects its motorsport pedigree, with extensive use of carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP). Key highlights include a carbon roof, boot lid, mirror caps, and a distinctive rear diffuser. The redesigned kidney grille with extended air inlets further enhances both aesthetics and performance.
BMW has also fine-tuned the chassis and braking systems to match the car’s enhanced output and weight balance. The suspension is lowered by 8 mm, with bespoke tuning for springs, dampers, and control systems, ensuring superior driving dynamics even under extreme conditions. Advanced settings for Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and M Dynamic Mode further optimise track performance.
Interior Shows Luxury In Abundence
Inside, the M2 CS blends luxury with sportiness, featuring lightweight M Carbon bucket seats, Alcantara finishes, and premium Merino leather upholstery. Illuminated CS-specific detailing adds a touch of exclusivity to the cabin.
With its limited availability, the BMW M2 CS is set to appeal to a niche but growing segment of performance car buyers in India seeking a pure, adrenaline-driven driving experience.
