Integrated solar manufacturer Vikram Solar Ltd has appointed Sameer Nagpal as its Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect.
Nagpal brings over three decades of leadership experience across diverse industries, having held key leadership roles. His appointment marks a significant milestone as the company advances its strategic vision to deepen backward integration, scale manufacturing capabilities, and reinforce its position in the global renewable energy landscape.
Ambitious capacity expansion
Chairman and Managing Director Gyanesh Chaudhary said the energy transition is at a defining moment where scale, integration and agility will distinguish leaders. He noted that Nagpal’s experience in driving transformation and execution would be critical as the company evolves into a more integrated and globally competitive organisation.
The company has outlined an ambitious growth roadmap to become a fully integrated energy solutions provider, targeting 15.5 GW of module manufacturing capacity and 12 GW of cell manufacturing capacity through backward integration.
Plans for expanding into energy storage
In parallel, it is expanding into energy storage with plans for 5 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) module manufacturing and 7.5 GWh battery cell manufacturing, with scope for further scale-up.
On his appointment, Nagpal said the company has built a strong platform to participate meaningfully in the energy transition, adding that the focus would be on strengthening market position, expanding global footprint and enhancing integrated capabilities.
Nagpal succeeds Krishna Kumar Maskara, who served as interim CEO and played a key role in steering the company through a critical growth phase, including its public listing in August 2025.
Maskara appointed COO and CRO
Maskara will now serve as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Risk Officer, overseeing operational excellence and enterprise risk management.
