Renault India said the latest Duster, powered by its Turbo TCe 160 engine, has achieved an Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI)-certified fuel efficiency of 18.45 km/ litre for the DCT automatic variant and 17.75 km/ litre for the 6-speed manual version.

The company is furthering the value proposition of its SUV portfolio, with the new Renault Duster Turbo TCe 160 striking a compelling balance between power and fuel efficiency.

Performance Meets Efficiency

At a time when buyers are seeking both performance and lower running costs, the new Duster positions itself as a strong contender in the mid-size SUV segment. The Turbo TCe 160 engine produces 163 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque, making it one of the most powerful offerings in its class.

What stands out is Renault’s focus on engineering efficiency without diluting performance. Advanced technologies such as low-friction coatings and high-pressure fuel injection systems have been deployed to optimise combustion, resulting in improved mileage figures.

Engineering for Indian Conditions

The latest iteration of the Duster has been tailored specifically for Indian driving environments, combining robust ride and handling dynamics with responsive performance. The integration of Renault’s dual-clutch transmission (DCT) ensures smoother and faster gear shifts, enhancing both drivability and efficiency.

Renault Group India, chief of engineering  V Vikraman said, “The ARAI-certified figures highlight the strength of our technology and our commitment to delivering superior all-round value. The Turbo 160 engine combines advanced engineering with efficient performance, ensuring a strong and responsive drive while maintaining fuel economy.”

Strengthening Market Position

With the SUV segment continuing to dominate India’s passenger vehicle market, the new Duster’s blend of power, efficiency, and ride quality is expected to strengthen Renault’s positioning among performance-focused yet value-conscious buyers.

Backed by its manufacturing facility in Oragadam, Chennai, and a wide sales and service network across the country, Renault is leveraging both product innovation and distribution strength to stay competitive.
