Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd said a 14-day disruption in one of its three kilns at Rajgangpur in Odisha impacted cement sales by around 2.5–3 lakh tonnes in March 2026.
The company said the breakdown occurred on March 13, affecting clinker production at a key facility supplying multiple eastern markets.
Impact on eastern markets
The affected kiln accounts for a significant share of clinker consumption for grinding units in Odisha, West Bengal and Jharkhand.
With the company already operating at low inventory levels, the disruption led to supply constraints during a peak demand period.
Operations restored
Following repairs and maintenance, the kiln was relit on March 27, and clinker output has resumed.
Operations have since stabilised, with dispatches to grinding units gradually returning to normal levels.
Supply chain normalisation
“As a result of this breakdown that lasted 14 days, and also due to the fact that the company was already operating at low inventory levels, cement sales in our key eastern markets have been impacted by almost 2.5–3 lakh tonnes in March 2026. We regret the disruption in supplies to our esteemed channel partners during this peak demand period due to this unforeseen event. We would like to reassure them that all necessary measures are being undertaken to normalise our supply chains at the earliest,” Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd, said.
The company indicated that corrective steps are being taken to restore supply chains and minimise further impact.
