Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (APSEZ), India’s largest integrated transport utility, has ended FY26 handling 500 million tonnes of cargo and is now targeting 1 billion tonnes by FY30.
More than a scale milestone, the achievement reflects the evolution of a world-class logistics platform built on long-term strategy, operational discipline and a strong focus on national infrastructure development.
Growth journey
From a single port-led vision in 1998, APSEZ has expanded into a network spanning 19 ports and terminals across India and international markets.
The company has emerged as a key enabler of India’s trade, industrial growth and global competitiveness.
Leadership perspective
Adani Group, Chairman, Gautam Adani, said: “APSEZ crossing 500 million tonnes is a signal of our decades-long confidence in the India growth story. Over the years, we have built not just ports, but an unparalleled interconnected transport and logistics platform spanning ports, rail, roads, trucking, warehouses, and cargo gateways. APSEZ’s best is ahead of us. And the best of India is ahead of her.”
Scale and momentum
While APSEZ took 16 years to reach its first 100 million tonnes, each subsequent milestone has been achieved at a faster pace, underscoring improvements in scale, efficiency and operational resilience.
With this momentum, the company remains firmly on track to achieve its next milestone of handling 1 billion tonnes of cargo by 2030.
Integrated logistics platform
APSEZ’s integrated network comprises 15 ports across 11,000 km of India’s coastline and four international ports along the strategic East–West corridor.
It covers 95% of India’s hinterland through 12 multimodal logistics parks, 132 trains, 20,000 trucks, 2.9 lakh sq. metres of warehousing space and 25 agri silos.
The company also connects global trade routes through a fleet of 118 nearshore tugboats, 53 offshore vessels and 37 flotilla vessels.
Outlook
As it enters the next phase of growth, APSEZ said it will continue to focus on building world-class infrastructure and strengthening its position as a globally competitive logistics platform.
