Hinduja flagship Ashok Leyland has achieved a historic milestone, recording its highest-ever annual sales of 2.20 lakh commercial vehicles (CVs). This is the first time the company has crossed the 2 lakh-unit mark, surpassing its previous peak by 12% and reinforcing its strong growth momentum in the commercial vehicle segment.

In a LinkedIn post, Ashok Leyland MD & CEO Shenu Agarwal said that the milestone reflects more than just numbers. It highlights the strength of the company’s products, the trust of its customers, and the unwavering commitment of its team.
He also expressed gratitude to suppliers, dealers, and partners, acknowledging their critical role in enabling this achievement, while noting that the company is even more excited about the road ahead.

Ashok Leyland is sharpening its focus on becoming one of the top 10 global commercial vehicle manufacturers. The company’s strategy centres on scaling faster, driving deeper innovation, and strengthening customer engagement as it builds a future-ready business.
Steady growth in March 2026 sales
The company reported a 5% year-on-year increase in total sales (domestic and exports) to 25,381 units in March 2026, compared to 24,060 units in the same month last year. Growth was driven by both key segments, with medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) sales rising 3% year-on-year to 17,518 units, while light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales registered a stronger 12% increase to 7,863 units.
In the domestic market, total vehicle sales grew 5% to 23,743 units in March 2026, up from 22,510 units a year ago. Within this, domestic M&HCV sales saw a modest 1% increase to 16,238 units, indicating stable demand in the core segment.
Switch Mobility leads EV bus segment
Switch Mobility, the company’s electric mobility arm, has also reached a significant milestone. It announced that its electric buses are now ranked number one, making it the market leader in the EV bus segment.
This achievement underscores Ashok Leyland’s growing strength in sustainable mobility and its commitment to advancing clean transportation solutions.
