IT major Wipro Ltd has secured a multi-year strategic transformation deal valued at over $1 billion from Singapore-based Olam Group, marking a significant push into the global food and agri-business technology space.

As part of the agreement, Wipro will acquire Olam’s IT and digital services arm, Mindsprint, for a consideration of $375 million, subject to customary closing conditions.

Long-term engagement with strong revenue visibility

The eight-year engagement comes with a committed spend of $800 million and is expected to exceed $1 billion in total contract value, providing strong long-term revenue visibility and reinforcing Wipro’s position in large-scale transformation deals.

AI-powered transformation across value chain

Under the engagement, Wipro will deliver end-to-end transformation services through a consulting-led, AI-powered approach. Leveraging its Wipro Intelligence platform, the company will drive digital transformation across Olam Group’s ‘farm-to-fork’ value chain, spanning farming operations, demand forecasting, trading, supply chain management, and customer engagement.

The initiative is aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, strengthening resilience, and enabling scalable, long-term growth across the enterprise.

Mindsprint acquisition to unlock synergies

The acquisition of Mindsprint is expected to create strong synergies by combining its deep domain expertise in the food and agri-business sector with Wipro’s global capabilities in digital transformation. Primarily based in India, Mindsprint employs over 3,200 professionals and has been a key enabler of Olam Group’s digital transformation journey.

Upon completion of the transaction, Mindsprint will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Wipro.

Closure timeline

The acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of Q1 FY27 (June 2026), subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions.

Wipro will advance Olam’s mission-critical programmes

Sunny Verghese, Co-founder and Group CEO of Olam Group, said Wipro’s scale, consulting-led approach, and investments in innovation position it well to advance Olam’s mission-critical programmes and deliver scalable outcomes. He noted that the combination of Mindsprint’s industry expertise with Wipro’s global capabilities creates strong synergies across the value chain.

Srini Pallia, CEO and MD of Wipro Ltd, said the engagement marks an important step in expanding the company’s farm-to-fork capabilities while scaling the impact of its AI-powered offerings across the food and agri-business sector.
