Under Tonse’s leadership, the bank will focus on four key strategic pillars : people, products, processes, and technology, to drive long-term, sustainable growth.

People will remain central to the strategy, with emphasis on talent development, employee empowerment, and building an inclusive workplace culture.

Customer-centric product evolution

YES Bank aims to strengthen its customer-first approach by continuously evolving its product offerings. This will help deliver relevant, differentiated solutions, deepen customer relationships, and support steady revenue growth.

Focus on operational excellence

The bank will enhance operational efficiency through streamlined processes that improve speed, simplicity, and scalability. This approach is expected to boost productivity while reducing operational risks and vulnerabilities.

Technology as a growth enabler

Digital innovation will play a pivotal role in YES Bank’s strategy. The bank plans to leverage technology to unlock new opportunities, improve customer experience, and maintain a competitive edge in an increasingly digital banking landscape.

Governance and resilience at the core

The strategy will be anchored in strong governance, risk discipline, and customer trust, which are seen as critical to strengthening the bank’s balance sheet and long-term resilience.

Backed by strong institutional support

YES Bank continues to benefit from the strategic backing of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), its largest shareholder. This partnership is expected to enhance cross-border capabilities and corporate banking strength.

The continued stake of State Bank of India also underlines sustained institutional confidence in the bank.

Experienced leadership at the helm

Tonse brings over three decades of banking experience, having previously served as Managing Director at State Bank of India. His expertise spans treasury, retail and corporate banking, international operations, and asset management, along with deep exposure to global financial markets.

Focus on profitability
