The Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) continued its growth momentum in FY26 reaching a portfolio 628 hotels with a pipeline of 255 hotels.
In line with its guidance, IHCL opened over 30 hotels in FY26 well represented across brands.
Forayed into new markets
India’s largest hospitality company entered new markets of Lakshadweep, Ekta Nagar, Raichak, Kanpur, Vrindavan and Bhutan and strengthened its presence in Goa, Ahmedabad, Coorg, Kochi, Gurugram, Delhi, Varanasi, Udaipur, Haridwar and Dehradun.
IHCL Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development Suma Venkatesh said: “This fiscal year marked a record of 250 signings through inorganic and sustained organic growth delivering an expanded brand scape and scaling our presence in the midscale segment.
Strengthening presence in luxury segment
During the year, IHCL strengthened its presence in the luxury segment with the on boarding of Claridges Collection, a boutique luxury offering and acquisition of controlling stake in Atmantan, an integrated wellness centre and Brij hospitality in experiential leisure. Ginger leads the midscale segment with the acquisition of majority stake in ANK and Pride hospitality reaching over 250 portfolios across 150 locations.
According to her, IHCL demonstrated organic growth momentum across its brand scape with 19 signings in Taj including a hotel in Cairo, a 500 key hotel in Patna and a hotel and branded residences in Noida. The re-imagined Gateway reached a milestone portfolio of over 50 hotels.
Acquisitions contribute to growing portfolio
IHCL Executive Vice President – Hotel Openings & New Businesses Deepika Rao said: “Through acquisitions this year we added over 100 operating hotels taking IHCL’s operating hotels to 373 hotels with over 33,000 rooms this fiscal.”
Out of the 373 operating hotels, Ginger has 165 hotels, Taj 91, SeleQtions 37, Vivanta 32, Tree of Life 20 and the rest are shared by Gateway, Bridge, Claridges Collection and Atmantan.
Pipeline and strategy
Ginger has a pipeline of 99 hotels, followed by Taj 56, Gateway 38, SeleQtions 19, Brij 12 and Tree of Life 8.
Under its strategy Accelerate 2030, IHCL is planning to achieve its goal of a 700-hotel portfolio.
