CW Bureau ·

Aster DM Healthcare has invested ₹6 crore to expand its Women & Children facility at Whitefield, Bengaluru, as part of its strategy to strengthen specialised healthcare services.

With the expansion, the bed capacity at Aster Whitefield will increase from 380 to 539 beds, enhancing its ability to cater to growing demand for maternal and paediatric care.

Capacity expansion and inauguration

The expanded facility was inaugurated by Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao and Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader.

The new 159-bed Women & Children block is designed to offer comprehensive care across all stages, from pre-conception to childbirth and postnatal support.

Specialised healthcare services

The facility will offer a wide range of advanced services including water birthing, laparoscopic gynaecology, foetal medicine and surgery, and fertility care.

It will also house a Level 3A NICU, paediatric intensive care unit, high dependency unit, neonatal and paediatric surgical services, along with a dedicated child development centre.

Focus on integrated care

Azad Moopen, Founder & Chairman, Aster DM Healthcare, said, “As demand for high-quality maternal and paediatric care grows, it is essential to scale both capacity and capabilities. At Aster, we remain focused on expanding centres of excellence that deliver compassionate, world-class care.”

“The expansion of our Women & Children facility at Whitefield reflects our commitment to advanced infrastructure and specialised expertise, ensuring comprehensive, end-to-end care for mothers and children under one roof, while setting new benchmarks in the region,” he added.

Strengthening Bengaluru presence

The expansion complements Aster’s broader growth plans in Bengaluru, including the upcoming 500-bed hospital in Yeshwantpur and the 430-bed facility in Sarjapur.

These additions are expected to increase Aster’s total bed capacity in Karnataka to 2,573 beds, significantly strengthening its regional footprint.

Scaling regional leadership

With the enhanced capacity and expanding network, Aster DM Healthcare aims to consolidate its position among the top three private healthcare providers in Karnataka.

The continued investments reflect the company’s focus on delivering advanced, patient-centric care while scaling its presence in key urban markets.
