Ola Electric Brings 4680 Bharat Cell To Mass Market With S1 X+ 5.2 kWh

Ola Electric has announced the launch of the new S1 X+ 5.2 kWh, powered by its indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cell. With this, the company is bringing its advanced in-house cell technology to the mass market, making long-range EV scooters more accessible for Indian consumers.

Launched at an introductory price of ₹1,29,999, valid till April 15, the S1 X+ 5.2 kWh marks a significant milestone in Ola Electric’s journey to drive adoption of high-performance EV technology at scale.

This move underlines Ola Electric’s vertical integration across cell development, battery pack engineering, and vehicle manufacturing, enabling it to rapidly scale breakthrough technology across segments.

Taking 4680 Bharat Cell to mass market

An Ola Electric spokesperson said, “With S1 X+ 5.2 kWh, we are taking our 4680 Bharat Cell to the mass market at scale. The same technology platform we built for our most advanced products is now powering a scooter designed for much wider EV adoption. This is exactly what vertical integration enables—the ability to innovate deeply, scale quickly, and bring our best technology to more and more customers, faster.”

Performance and features
The S1 X+ 5.2 kWh combines strong performance, everyday practicality, and advanced technology. Powered by an 11 kW mid-drive motor with an integrated MCU, the scooter delivers a 320 km IDC range and a top speed of 125 km/h. It is also equipped with Brake-by-Wire and front disc brakes, offering improved control and braking performance.

Product portfolio expansion
Ola Electric currently offers an expansive portfolio of Gen 3 S1 scooters and Roadster X motorcycles. The premium S1 Gen 3 range includes the S1 Pro+ in 5.2 kWh and 4 kWh configurations, and the S1 Pro in 4 kWh and 3 kWh variants.

The company’s mass-market offerings include the Gen 3 S1 X+ (4 kWh) and the Gen 3 S1 X in 2 kWh, 3 kWh, and 4 kWh configurations.

Motorcycle lineup
The company’s Roadster motorcycle portfolio comprises the Roadster X+ in 4.5 kWh and 9.1 kWh configurations, and the Roadster X, available in 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh variants.
