Indri Single Malt Indian Whisky’s Diwali Collector’s Edition 2025 has been awarded “Best Special Edition Design” in the World’s Best Design category at the World Whiskies Awards 2026, becoming the first Indian brand to secure this global recognition.
India-inspired design takes centre stage
The award-winning packaging, conceptualised by designer Krsnaa Mehta, Founder of India Circus, draws inspiration from India’s royal heritage, blending elements such as lush gardens, majestic elephants and intricate architectural motifs.
The design reflects a visual narrative rooted in serenity, grandeur and cultural richness, with ornate patterns and symbolic detailing capturing the essence of India’s artistic legacy.
Storytelling through packaging
The Diwali Collector’s Edition goes beyond conventional packaging, presenting each bottle as a collectible piece of art. The use of heritage-inspired textures, vibrant hues and narrative-driven artwork evokes the festive spirit of Diwali while reinforcing a strong sense of cultural identity.
Krsnaa Mehta said, “I truly enjoyed crafting this packaging. The walking royal elephants and the royal courtyard bring in the Indianness I set out to capture, adding a sense of heritage and quiet grandeur to the design. I am delighted to see it receive this recognition.”
Building a distinctive global identity
Over the years, Indri’s Diwali editions have emerged as highly anticipated releases in the Indian single malt segment, each showcasing a unique design language and thematic storytelling.
The 2025 edition builds on this legacy, setting a new benchmark in design excellence while reinforcing the brand’s positioning at the intersection of craftsmanship and culture.
Global recognition for Indian design
Piccadilly Agro Industries Head of Marketing Shalini Sharma said: “This recognition reinforces that Indian design, rooted in culture yet expressed with modernity, can stand tall on any global platform.”
The win is significant as it places Indian whisky brands firmly on the global stage, not only for product quality but also for their evolving design sensibility and storytelling capabilities.
Expanding India’s presence in premium spirits
The recognition reflects a broader shift in global perception, with Indian single malts gaining prominence for both quality and brand experience.
With its Diwali Collector’s Edition, Indri continues to blend tradition with innovation, creating a recurring cultural moment that resonates with consumers and collectors alike.
