Lemon Tree Hotels Ltd, a hospitality firm, ended FY26 with 56 new signings and 20 hotel openings, reinforcing its transition towards a disciplined asset-light growth strategy.
With an operational portfolio of over 130 hotels and 11,000 keys across 80 destinations, the company continues to scale its presence through a capital-efficient model while maintaining operational consistency.
Expansion across diverse markets
Growth during the year was driven by a focused push into high-growth urban centres, tier II and III cities, and emerging leisure destinations, in line with evolving travel demand across India.
The expansion includes pilgrimage destinations such as Tirupati, Ayodhya and Somnath, leisure markets like Malshej Ghat, Khurpatal and Barog, as well as industrial hubs including Bhilai, Rudrapur and Mhow.
Capturing multi-segment demand
This diversified presence positions the company to tap demand across religious, leisure and business travel segments, particularly in under penetrated markets where branded hospitality supply remains limited.
The strategy also reflects a broader shift beyond metro-centric growth, aligning with the expanding footprint of domestic travel.
Leadership commentary
Lemon Tree Hotels Ltd Managing Director, Neelendra Singh said, “Lemon Tree Hotels was founded to bridge a critical gap in India’s midscale hospitality sector by delivering reliable, branded experiences. As the market reaches a new level of maturity, our next phase of growth is focused on scaling that core proposition across a much wider geographic network. We are moving beyond the traditional six-city model because the Indian traveller is now everywhere, and our network is expanding to meet them where they are, while maintaining the discipline and consistency that define our brand.”
Strong brand-led pipeline
The development pipeline remained diversified across brands, with the core Lemon Tree Hotels brand leading with 27 signings, followed by nine under Lemon Tree Premier and 18 under the Keys portfolio.
Selective additions under Aurika Hotels & Resorts and Lemon Tree Resort highlight a calibrated expansion into upscale and leisure-driven segments.
Execution momentum
On the operational front, the company opened 20 hotels during the year, including 12 under the Lemon Tree Hotels brand, three each under Lemon Tree Premier and Keys Lite, and two under Keys Select.
This steady conversion of pipeline into operational assets strengthens its footprint across key commercial corridors and emerging travel circuits.
Outlook
The continued expansion reflects the company’s ability to scale efficiently while maintaining brand consistency and operational discipline.
With a strong pipeline, diversified portfolio and asset-light strategy, Lemon Tree Hotels remains well positioned to deliver sustained long-term growth.
