Saboo Sodium Chloro Ltd (SSCL) has expanded its landholding in Udaipur through its wholly owned subsidiary Samskara Resorts Pvt Ltd, acquiring an additional 6,070 sq. m adjoining its earlier parcel of 23,300 sq. m for the proposed Samskara Udaipur 350-keys Palace-like luxury hotel project.
With the latest acquisition, the total landholding for the project now stands at around 29,370 sq. m (approximately 7.26 acres), creating a sizeable development site for one of SSCL’s flagship hospitality ventures.
The company said the enlarged parcel would enable greater flexibility in project design and enhance long-term value.
SSCL is primarily a salt manufacturer. It is expanding into luxury hospitality through its subsidiary Samskara Resorts.
Large-scale luxury development
SSCL is developing Samskara Udaipur as a palace-style luxury hotel with up to 350 rooms, positioning it among the larger hospitality assets in the region by room inventory. The project will feature signature restaurants, premium banqueting and event spaces, along with wellness and recreation facilities.
The property is strategically located near Maharana Pratap Airport and in proximity to Taj Lake Palace, enhancing its attractiveness as a high-end destination.
The latest acquisition marks SSCL’s fourth land purchase over the past 12 months, following earlier additions in Jawai, Udaipur and Tadoba, as the company continues to build a portfolio of fully owned luxury hospitality assets.
Jawai project advances
Separately, in March, SSCL received a Forest No Objection Certificate for its 120-room luxury five-star resort project in Jawai, a wildlife tourism destination known for its leopard habitat and conservation landscape.
The project is being developed on a land parcel of about 40,000 sq. m, located adjacent to Aaramgah Jawai Resort & Spa, part of the Radisson Individuals Retreats portfolio.
With the Forest NOC in place, the project has entered an advanced pre-construction stage. Architectural drawings have been submitted, and the company is in the final stages of tendering the civil contract.
Construction is expected to commence within the next two months, subject to further regulatory approvals and final conversion orders.
The Jawai development is expected to complement SSCL’s broader hospitality strategy by tapping into the fast-growing experiential and wildlife tourism segment, while the Udaipur project anchors its presence in the luxury urban-resort category.
