Zen Technologies has secured an arms manufacturing licence from the Government of India under the Arms Act, 1959, marking a significant expansion of its defence capabilities. The licence enables the company to manufacture 12.7mm, 23mm, 30mm, and 40mm cannons, critical weapon systems with applications across air defence, naval operations, and counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) roles.
Strengthening last-layer defence capabilities
These rapid-fire cannons are designed to serve as highly effective last-layer defence solutions against drones, loitering munitions, and low-flying aerial threats. When integrated with advanced fire-control systems, radar, electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensors, and programmable ammunition, they deliver high-precision, responsive, and cost-efficient protection for strategic assets, armoured formations, border zones, and critical infrastructure.
Boost to indigenous defence manufacturing
The licence marks a decisive step forward in strengthening India’s indigenous defence manufacturing ecosystem under the IDDM (Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) framework. It positions Zen Technologies to play a more direct role in building homegrown, mission-critical weapon systems.
Aligned with evolving battlefield dynamics
Amid rising global conflicts where drones, loitering munitions, and asymmetric aerial threats are increasingly shaping warfare, Zen’s expanded capabilities enable it to address emerging battlefield requirements with India-centric, cost-effective air defence solutions.
Proven track record in defence technology
Zen Technologies is a pioneer in defence training and anti-drone solutions, with a strong track record in developing systems that enhance combat readiness for security forces. Backed by a dedicated R&D facility recognised by the Ministry of Science and Technology and a manufacturing base in Hyderabad, the company has filed over 200 patents and delivered more than 10,000 systems globally.
Three decades of domain expertise
With over 30 years of experience, Zen Technologies continues to evolve its portfolio to address emerging threats, reinforcing its position as a key player in next-generation defence solutions.
