Ola Electric’s Gold-Plated Offer Drives Festive Marketing For Akshaya Tritiya

CW Bureau ·

Ola Electric has unveiled its ‘Ola Sona Weekend’ campaign to mark the auspicious festival of Akshaya Tritiya, rolling out benefits worth up to ₹50,000 across its electric vehicle portfolio. The limited-period offer, valid on April 18 and 19, 2026, combines festive sentiment with sharp pricing and premium incentives to drive consumer traction. The icing on the cake is that one lucky winner every night on both the dates, rides home an Ola Sona, created with pure gold.

Chance to own a gold-plated limited edition
As part of the campaign, customers stand a chance to win the exclusive Ola Sona, a limited-edition scooter featuring real 24-karat gold-plated elements. The company positions the offering as a fusion of luxury and innovation, aligned with the festival’s symbolism of prosperity and new beginnings.

Entry-level pricing sharpens mass appeal
The company is offering its Gen 3 S1 X (2kWh) and Roadster X (2.5 kWh) at a starting price of ₹49,999, alongside portfolio-wide benefits. These aggressive entry points aim to accelerate EV adoption while strengthening Ola Electric’s foothold in the mass segment.

Limited-time deals and premium benefits
A key highlight is the Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh, now available at a discounted price of ₹1,39,999, down from ₹1,89,999, during a restricted purchase window between 6 PM and 9 PM on both days. Buyers will also receive an extended warranty of up to eight years.

Additional incentives include discounts of up to ₹40,000 across models, credit card EMI benefits worth ₹10,000 from leading banks, and extended warranty coverage across the lineup.

Luxury meets technology in Ola Sona
The limited-edition Ola S1 Pro Sona introduces gold-plated design elements alongside a curated digital experience. Its “Sona Mood” feature integrates a gold-themed interface within the Ola app and a customised MoveOS dashboard, enabling riders to personalise ride modes and settings for a more immersive experience.

Indigenisation drives cost advantage
Ola Electric has also extended the purchase window for the Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh, powered by its indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cell. The sharp price correction is attributed to economies of scale at its Gigafactory and deep vertical integration, underscoring the company’s focus on cost efficiency and domestic innovation.

Expanding access to long-range EVs
Further strengthening its portfolio, the company recently introduced the S1 X+ 5.2 kWh variant at an introductory price of ₹1,29,999. Powered by the in-house 4680 Bharat Cell, the new model aims to democratise long-range electric mobility for Indian consumers.

Leveraging innovation, pricing strategy
An Ola Electric spokesperson said the campaign reflects the brand’s commitment to delivering aspirational yet accessible mobility solutions. With festive demand momentum building, the company is leveraging innovation, pricing strategy, and premium experiences to reinforce its leadership ambitions in India’s fast-evolving EV market.
