JSW, JFE Unveil New Identity For 50:50 Joint Venture JSW JFE Steel

JSW Steel Ltd and JFE Steel Corporation have unveiled the new corporate identity of their 50:50 joint venture, JSW JFE Steel Ltd, encompassing integrated steel operations at Sambalpur, Odisha.

The unveiling ceremony, held in the presence of Odisha Government, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal, JSW Group Director Parth Jindal, JFE Holdings, President & Chief Executive Officer Yoshihisa Kitano, and Embassy of Japan in India Ambassador Keiichi Ono. It also marked the completion of 15 years of the JSW–JFE strategic partnership.

The entity, formerly known as JSW Sambalpur Steel Ltd, reflects a deeper integration of operations and capabilities between the two partners.

Strategic significance

The new corporate identity symbolises the combination of JSW’s operational execution strengths with JFE’s advanced technological expertise, built over a partnership that began in 2009.

JSW Steel Ltd, Chairman Sajjan Jindal, said the joint venture represents a convergence of two industrial legacies aimed at shaping the future of steelmaking in India, particularly in the context of sustainability and scale.

JFE Steel Corporation, President & Chief Executive Officer Yoshihisa Kitano, said the new phase of collaboration will leverage JFE’s technology and JSW’s operational scale to deliver value and contribute to India’s industrial growth.

Operations, product portfolio

The Sambalpur facility manufactures a range of flat and long steel products, including hot-rolled coils, cold-rolled coils and value-added downstream products.

These cater to key sectors such as automotive, infrastructure, construction and capital goods, positioning the JV as a key player in India’s expanding steel ecosystem.
