CW Bureau ·

Ravindra Energy Ltd, through its associate Energy in Motion Ltd (EIM), has commenced commercial operations at what it claims is India’s largest battery swapping and charging station for heavy vehicles at the Nhava Sheva Freeport Container Terminal within Jawaharlal Nehru Port.

The automated facility, with an installed power capacity of 3 MW, can cater to up to 160 heavy electric vehicles daily, significantly reducing turnaround time and operational downtime at the port.

Scaling clean logistics

More than 130 EIM-Foton electric vehicles currently operating at the port have begun using the station, marking a step forward in electrifying heavy-duty logistics.

The deployment is aimed at addressing the growing demand for sustainable transport solutions while improving operational efficiency in one of India’s busiest container terminals.

Energy in Motion Managing Director Narendra Murkumbi said, “We have partnered with NSFT in creating a transformative EV ecosystem that drives efficiency and sustainability.”

Partnership-driven transition

NSFT is a joint venture between CMA Terminal Holdings and J M Baxi Group, both of which are working towards electrifying the entire fleet at the terminal by the end of FY27.

The facility is expected to play a critical role in accelerating India’s clean logistics ecosystem and supporting large-scale EV adoption in port operations.
