Lehar Footwears is accelerating its growth ambitions with a major capacity expansion in North India, signaling a major focus towards the fast-growing athleisure and sports footwear segment.
The company has announced an investment of up to ₹25 crore to set up a large-scale manufacturing facility in Kundli, Haryana, an initiative that is set to significantly enhance its production capabilities and product mix.
Scaling up for the next phase of growth
The upcoming Kundli facility will focus on manufacturing sports shoes and EVA-based footwear, marking a strategic shift toward higher-value categories. Once fully ramped up, the plant is expected to increase Lehar’s production capacity fivefold—from around 1 lakh pairs per month to 5 lakh pairs in a phased manner.
Commercial operations are slated to begin from Q2 FY26, aligning with the company’s broader plan to capitalize on surging demand for athleisure products in India.
Chairman Raj Kumar Agarwal described the expansion as a critical milestone. “This project enables us to build scalable, technology-led manufacturing capabilities that are aligned with evolving consumer preferences. It also supports our premiumisation strategy across both branded and OEM segments,” he said.
Betting big on athleisure and premiumisation
The move comes at a time when India’s sports and athleisure footwear market is witnessing robust growth, driven by rising health consciousness, increasing disposable incomes, and shifting fashion trends.
Lehar’s new facility will play a dual role—supporting its in-house athleisure brand ‘Rannr’ while strengthening its OEM manufacturing vertical. This dual strategy is expected to drive higher average selling prices (ASPs) and improve margins through a richer product mix.
Technology-led manufacturing push
A key highlight of the Kundli unit is its focus on modern manufacturing technologies. The facility will be equipped with advanced machinery designed to enhance product quality, ensure consistency, and improve operational efficiency—critical factors as the company moves up the value chain.
Strategic location advantage
Located in Kundli, Haryana, the new plant offers strong connectivity to key North Indian markets and logistics hubs, enabling faster distribution and supply chain efficiencies.
Building on a strong foundation
Founded in 1995, Lehar Footwears has established itself as a prominent regional player in the non-leather footwear segment, with brands like ‘Lehar’ and ‘Rannr’. The company distributes its products through a wide network spanning retail outlets, export markets, government channels, and e-commerce platforms.
With five manufacturing facilities across Jaipur, Kaladera, and Kundli, the latest expansion further strengthens its production backbone and positions the company to tap into India’s evolving footwear landscape.
Outlook: stepping into a high-growth zone
As consumer preferences shift toward performance and lifestyle-oriented footwear, Lehar’s investment in capacity, technology, and branding reflects a clear intent to move beyond mass-market offerings into more premium, high-growth segments.
The Kundli expansion not only boosts scale but also sharpens the company’s competitive edge—setting the stage for sustained growth in India’s rapidly expanding athleisure market.
