IHCL Brings Tree Of Life To Kamshet, Boosts Maharashtra Leisure Portfolio

Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) has announced the signing of a Tree of Life resort in Kamshet, Maharashtra. The property will undergo renovation and its room inventory will be doubled as part of the development plan.

IHCL Executive Vice President, Real Estate & Development Suma Venkatesh said the Kamshet–Lonavala–Pawna corridor has emerged as a strong drive-to leisure destination, supported by steady demand across short-stay holidays, social events and corporate gatherings.

“The Kamshet–Lonavala–Pawna corridor has evolved into a well-established drive-to leisure market, supported by consistent demand across segments including short-stay vacations, social celebrations and corporate events. Its proximity to Mumbai and Pune continues to shape demand patterns, with guests seeking immersive, nature-led experiences. This signing marks Tree of Life’s entry into this market, aligning with the brand’s focus on offering intimate, experience-driven stays and we are delighted to partner with Kalyan Borade for this project,” she said.

Resort to offer immersive leisure experiences
The 30-key Tree of Life Kamshet will offer panoramic views of the Sahyadri hills and feature an all-day dining restaurant with a bar. The resort will also house recreational amenities including a swimming pool, outdoor nature spa and multiple event spaces such as a glasshouse with adjoining lawns and an amphitheatre designed for social and corporate events.

Guests will also have access to curated experiences including organic farming, wine and jam making, along with bespoke lakeside dining experiences.

Partnership with local promoters

Kalyan Borade said the partnership with IHCL would help bring the Tree of Life brand to Kamshet while aligning with the long-term vision for the destination. “We are pleased to partner with IHCL to bring the Tree of Life brand to Kamshet. This association brings together our shared vision for the destination with the brand’s expertise in hospitality,” he said.

Kamshet emerges as leisure hotspot

Located amid the Western Ghats, Kamshet has gained popularity as one of India’s leading paragliding destinations. The region also attracts visitors to locations such as Pawna Lake, Bedse Caves, Kondeshwar Temple and several adventure tourism sites.

The project is being promoted by  Kalyan Borade along with Shivani Borade and Simran Borade. While  Borade is involved in residential, industrial and warehousing real estate projects, Shivani Borade has experience in homestays and agro-tourism in Lonavala. Simran Borade is an economist working in the climate change sector with a focus on water and energy.
