Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has introduced E-Clutch technology on the Honda NX500, bringing advanced rider-assist functionality to its mid-size adventure touring motorcycle lineup in India.
The move marks the introduction of a technology designed to improve riding comfort and convenience across both urban commutes and long-distance touring conditions.
Bookings for the Honda NX500 E-Clutch are now open at Honda BigWing dealerships across the country at a starting price of ₹7,43,900 (ex-showroom, All India), effective May 11, 2026.
Technology designed to reduce rider fatigue
Honda said the E-Clutch system uses precise electronic control to manage clutch engagement during starting, gear shifting and stopping, reducing the need for manual clutch operation.
The system is aimed at easing rider fatigue, especially in heavy traffic conditions and long highway rides, while still allowing riders to manually override the clutch whenever required.
According to the company, the technology retains the engaging and hands-on riding experience that the NX500 is known for while adding greater convenience for everyday use.
Focus on urban and touring comfort
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India President & CEO Tsutsumu Otani said :“The Honda NX500 equipped with E Clutch technology enhances comfort and control across both urban and touring environments in India, by reducing rider fatigue, while retaining the engaging, hands-on riding experience that defines Honda motorcycles.”
Parallel-twin engine powers the NX500
The NX500 is powered by a 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine paired with a six-speed transmission.
Honda said the engine has been tuned to deliver strong low- and mid-range torque along with linear power delivery at higher RPMs, making it suitable for both city riding and long-distance highway touring.
Adventure-focused hardware package
The motorcycle is built on a steel diamond frame and comes equipped with Showa SFF-BP upside-down front suspension along with a preload-adjustable rear monoshock setup.
Braking duties are handled by dual front disc brakes and a rear disc brake supported by dual-channel ABS.
The NX500 rides on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel combination, aimed at enhancing stability across varying road conditions.
Connected features and rider aids included
Honda has equipped the motorcycle with a 5.0-inch full-colour TFT display featuring Honda RoadSync connectivity, enabling navigation, call alerts and music functions. Additional features include Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and full LED lighting as standard equipment.
Two colour options on offer
The Honda NX500 with E-Clutch technology is available in two colour options: Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic and Pearl Horizon White.
