BYD India, the Indian subsidiary of global new energy vehicle giant BYD, has announced a price increase across its electric passenger vehicle portfolio effective July 1, 2026.
The company said prices will rise by 1-2% depending on the model and variant, citing sustained foreign exchange fluctuations as the key reason behind the revision.
The move comes amid rising cost pressures in the automotive industry, particularly linked to imported components and currency volatility impacting electric vehicle manufacturers.
Existing prices retained for early bookings
To help customers plan purchases better, BYD India said current prices will continue for customers who complete bookings during May and June 2026, provided vehicle deliveries are taken on or before July 31, 2026. However, all bookings made from July 1 onwards will attract the revised pricing structure.
Premium EV demand remains strong
BYD India Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles Business Rajeev Chauhan said the company continues to witness strong demand for its premium electric offerings despite market challenges.
“This price revision is in lieu of foreign exchange fluctuations. Even in a challenging market environment, BYD India remains focused on delivering high-value, advanced, safe, and premium electric mobility solutions to customers,” said Chauhan.
He added that products such as the BYD ATTO 3 and BYD SEALION 7 have received encouraging customer response, reflecting growing consumer confidence in premium electric mobility in India.
Technology-led EV strategy
BYD India said its growth strategy continues to focus on advanced in-house technologies aimed at improving performance, safety and driving experience.
Among the company’s key differentiators are its Blade Battery technology, Cell-to-Body integration and 8-in-1 electric powertrain platform. These technologies help deliver faster charging, improved driving range, enhanced cabin space and connected driving capabilities across BYD’s EV lineup.
Globally, the company is also advancing sustainable mobility technologies through the introduction of its second-generation Blade Battery and advanced flash-charging systems designed to improve charging speeds, energy efficiency and battery safety.
Network expansion strengthens market presence
BYD India currently operates through a network of 48 dealerships spread across 40 cities, offering integrated sales and service support nationwide.
The company said the expanding retail footprint is aimed at improving accessibility and enhancing customer ownership experience as premium EV adoption gains momentum in India.
Building EV community engagement
As part of its customer engagement strategy, BYD India is also expanding the “BYD Pioneers Club”, a dedicated platform designed for EV customers and enthusiasts.
The initiative includes curated drive experiences, knowledge-sharing sessions and brand-led engagement activities intended to build a stronger community around sustainable mobility and electric vehicle adoption in India.
