CW Bureau ·

Hikvision India has introduced its latest Door Frame Metal Detector (DFMD) and Hand-Held Metal Detector (HHMD) solutions aimed at strengthening security inspection operations across multiple sectors, including airports, metros, government buildings, stadiums, hotels and critical infrastructure.

The company said the new security inspection portfolio is designed to detect concealed threats such as weapons, explosives, contraband and unauthorised items at entry points without disrupting the flow of people.

AI-powered ecosystem to enhance screening
Moving beyond video surveillance, Hikvision India said it is building an AI-enhanced security inspection ecosystem that integrates with cameras, access control systems and command centres. The company added that the integrated platform is designed to provide real-time actionable intelligence while reducing false alarms and improving operational efficiency.

According to the company, the solutions are backed by local manufacturing capabilities and a pan-India service network to support deployment across enterprise and government applications.

Walk-through detector designed for critical sites
Hikvision India highlighted the ISD-SMG924L-H, a 24-zone walk-through metal detector developed for high-security inspection requirements. The company said the product is designed for airports, industrial facilities and government buildings where high throughput and accurate threat detection are critical.

The detector combines high-sensitivity screening with AI-powered analytics to accelerate passenger movement and improve operator efficiency during security checks.

Hand-held detector targets multiple sectors
The company also introduced the NP-SMH003 handheld metal detector, which is designed for flexible security inspection operations in crowded public places. Hikvision India said the lightweight device can be deployed across transportation hubs, office buildings, schools, hospitals, business parks, cultural venues and large public events.

The company added that the handheld detector is intended to support security personnel in conducting quick and efficient screening of individuals in high-footfall environments.
